District seeks volunteers to evaluate RFPs The District is continually seeking volunteers from the local community to serve on the committees that evaluate requests for proposals. These committees determine the most advantageous offers to the District for the goods and services that it purchases. By serving as a volunteer on one of these committees, you will ensure that the interests of community are taken into consideration for the awards. The committees generally meet for an hour or two on two different days, depending upon how many offers there are and how complicated the purchase is. Sometimes there is “homework” in that the members will read and score offers in their own time at work or home.
To volunteer, just fill out and send to Purchasing Department:
 RFP Committee Volunteer FormYou will be notified of your selection and added to a list of potential committee members. At some time in the future, you will be contacted regarding an upcoming committee. If the timing works for you, you will be asked to serve on a committee. As part of an evaluation committee, you will be briefed on potential conflicts of interests to determine your suitability for specific committees. For example, you should not serve on any committee if you have a close relative working with one of the vendors under consideration. These matters will be discussed with you after your selection to a committee.
